I shot this buck in December 2010. I had struck out on the bigger bucks and was flat running out of time. This buck was way out in the hills by himself in a place I could hunt him. I always wondered why he was never chasing does during the rut, and found out. He had an injury to his testicles at some point (poor fella!).
The stalk was pretty simple, he bedded down in a draw and I was able to slip in on top of him and take the shot at 40 yards. I feel like I could have gotten closer, but I was confident at that range and further so I took the first shot he gave me. I love it when a plan comes together!
Oddly enough, we see a lot of fork horns that resemble him.

And a few of his same bloodlines (we suspect)
