LAST EDITED ON Feb-06-13 AT 11:05PM (MST)[p]Hey Thanks Guys! Awesome!!

Keep em coming, you upland guy too. I don't know of a better way to spend a nice day than chasing quail or wild roosters behind a good dog! Hunting Bucks is right up there and can be the utmost thrill at moments but a day long outing with a good buddy, some good dogs, and where the birds be living, is a hard day to beat indeed!

Little2feather, i hope you had good reason if you did that. Seems in bad taste to me, even if it were legal for you to do so.

Good question Frank - I thought those pics looked familiar, and considering the poster, I did a quick google search and found these articles:

http://q13fox.com/news/stories/4-bald-eagles-shot-in-snohomish-county/#axzz2KEUnpPwN

http://www.sott.net/article/256470-At-least-3-bald-eagles-found-shot-state-offers-reward

The pics were originally provided by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and it looks like Little2Feather took them from one of these articles, perhaps from their Facebook page (though I am not finding the pics there now but that is where I remembered seeing the pic before as a friend had linked it to his page.)

2Feather is a proven troll and it looks like he is once again needing some attention, and this is his attempt at humor, or to be cute or something like it. He wants there to be a reaction. So to keep him from doing crap like this, just ignore him, don't react. The more you feed him the hungrier he gets.

Don't feed the troll.

HOOK 'EM!

That is most certainly where those photos came from and it looks like 2fer is trying to compete with Trollstate for the number one idiot troll position!!!

Holy crap Nemont, I wanna come and hunt with you!!!

Great thread

Here's a few for you Joey. We have a little more liberal limits than when your photo was taken. I have a dry rice field in Sutter County, CA.

Limited out both last Sat and Sunday. This was Sunday.

403512-23-2012ducks.jpg

Had a number of days where I limited out on both ducks and geese.

Bagged this Canada/Graylag cross a week or so ago.

Pulled this off a couple years ago, a drakes slam. Took the better part of a day to find them all...

LAST EDITED ON Feb-07-13 AT 09:05PM (MST)[p]h20fwlr, Nice! Very Nice!!

Were were hunting Gunnersfield on Maxwell Rd off I-5. The limit then was 3 geese only two of which could be dark. I made a couple-few trips there every year and we generally always limited on Geese, got some ducks, and did OK on the Pheasents too at times.

That photo that Zigger posted of all those Mallards reminded me of a place in the Altamont Pass area between Livermore and Tracy Ca. Back then, the Mallards would flock in there by the thousands and two guys i knew emptied their guns on them after the sneak. One time they brought 4 garbage cans full of mallards back to town with them to give away, saying that they only shot twice each...

I also was catfishing on a levi on the delta and was approached by a plain clothes Warden. They had a sting operation going on with some guys hunting the half flooded private property field behind me. I had noticed the huge grind going on and heard all the shooting but didn't pay it much notice until i was clued in. That grind was so big and had so many birds, they weren't even flying away at the shots and the shooters just had birds keep working in by the hundreds and they kept on shooting. I was told that these same guys were wealthy and had been caught before.

Tikka, Nice Pic! Bull sprig are way cool to get!!

Honkers!, I only have shot maybe a dozen in my lifetime. Some of you guys seem to have it pretty good, well done!! My last honker killed was with a fishing rod in hand and my shotgun on my lap. Caught a few nice trout out of Lake Almanor that day and my buddy and i each got two honkers of the Dozen or so that chose the wrong place to cut a corner while flying to a place for them to feed.

Keep em Coming Guys!!Thanks!!

Edit: Triple_bb, Below, Way nice!! Love the look of your set-up. Great looking Birds!! Thanks!!

>Awesome Rudy in full plumage they
>are always ugly here!!!!

Yep, they are ugly brown everywhere in the country during season. I've been hunting ducks since I was 12 and I'm 50 now, and the only place I've ever seen them in color during season is here in the Imperial Valley, CA.
First one I ever got was at the Salton Sea back on 12/08/99 but I didn't take a pics back then.
The one pictured above was taken 1/02/10 and then during the last week of Jan. 2011 I shot 3 but lost one.
Here's a crappy cell pic of the last one (#4)

Mine has been used since I bought it at age 16. It was a pretty gun once, but it still kills. It'll outlast me.

BEST THREAD OF THE YEAR. Love all the variety. Love seeing young folks out in the field. Not much funner than chasin those birds. Just have one side not comment. I think if you shoot a creation... you need to utilize it. Too many goose/duck hunters unethically waste the meat or throw them to the dog. We have had 3 incidents where hunters just tossed the birds.

I agree, one of the best posts of the year. Buck hunting is serious, bird hunting is serious fun.

Triple_BB, is that a Gadwall between the bull Sprig and the Barrow's Goldeneye?

mtmiller---Looks like you and your dog are a good team on a lot of different birds!!! Nice pics!

I didn't have time for grouse hunting this year. Chukar hunting was bad and that is saying it mildly. I am going to post some pictures but they are from days gone by. Ron
