Bonus Point odds are up

Depressing report, even for a resident. Point creep has crossed the Rubicon.

At this rate, I “might” have 2 hunts left in my lifetime.

Adobe Acrobat Online, convert to xls, pulled into Libre.

I guess I need a new plan. The hunt I thought was 2 years away took almost 2 more points this year.

I noticed Unit 8, Hunt Code 3138, took 14 points for a NR to draw in the Bonus Round, but 5 NRs drew with only 2 points in the 1-2 pass.

Can 5 NRs apply in one group? If so, that's a lucky group. If not, that's 5 EXTREMELY lucky NRs!!

No, the most applicants that can apply on 1 application are 4 and that goes for R & NR.

Wow! At a minimum, one lucky group of NRs and one lucky NR!

Or more likely, an AZGFD draw screwup!

There were a 128 NR that put that hunt as a 1st and 2nd choice. Plenty pf combinations to come away with 5 tags.
Yep. Multiple possibilities. Just very odd that 5 of the tags went to NRs with only 2 points. Lucky applicants that's for sure.

Question: does the bonus point report indicate the total number of bonus points going into the draw (including the loyalty point and the hunter ed point)? Or is it just the number of bonus points accrued per year?

Interesting to see the point creep got me by 1 more point this year. Thought I would of got a bonus tag this year...

With loyalty and hunter ed points, 2 points is really zero for most applicants, especially since the online supplemental course. Everyone having 2 points to start hurts 1-2 pass draw odds for those with more points and helps draw odds for those who drew recently.

The original intent of the state specific hunter education point was to give residents a draw edge. It's no longer that with the online option.

The loyalty point penalizes those who screw up an application (happened a lot with paper applications) or have a refused charge. It was started when the USO lawsuit had the nonresident cap pulled down for a single application year around 2004. The intent was to put a expected flood of nonresident applications a point behind.

You don’t lose the loyalty point anymore due to a declined credit card. With the online app pretty much fool proof, only way to lose it now is to forget to put in.
