I went over to the basin yesterday. It does not look good. Folks in town said that nobody is doing any feeding for the deer just yet. They say they are thinking about starting. The deer appear to be in good shape right now. Give them another month of this and things might change. The deer seem to be eating the tops of sage brush. When the deer lay down all you can see is there heads. Alot of the deer were laying down which tells me they aren't starving. I will say that people need to be hunting alot of coyotes because the deer can't move very well at all. They are easy targets for predators. One buck tried to move and he had to jump through the snow. The snow seemed to be about 20 inches deep. Deer are the ultimate survivalist they will be where they can find some food. A lot of the deer were laying on the wind swept hillsides where the snow is not as deep.
