Public Outreach on License Allocation Alternatives and Preference Point Topics:
I feel it’s a slap in the face to residents to change the allocation from 80/20 for the high demand tags to 75/25!
I just have a hard time believing CPAW is concerned about money after getting legislation passed to charge $29 for each vehicle license plate renewal (for a state park pass) starting in 2023. I guess people can opt out but most won't bother due to the complications. Some early numbers project revenue of $54 million/year. The funds are to improve state parks and pay for search and rescue but it's all one large pot of money. I agree that the amenities provided in state parks should be improved for the visitors but dang that's a lot of additional revenue to pay for stuff that is already being paid for in some manner (hunters?). In a few years this revenue should be result in a huge surplus as you can only paint an outhouse at at trailhead so many times. In my opinion, It appears that CPAW has become a money pig and it also appears that really do not have to use "loss of revenue" as a reason in making big game license allocation decisions.

The state parks pass on your vehicle registration is the second dumbest thing I’ve seen this state do. First dumbest was the plastic bag ban, but that’s mainly the fault of the dumbasses who live here.I just have a hard time believing CPAW is concerned about money after getting legislation passed to charge $29 for each vehicle license plate renewal (for a state park pass) starting in 2023.
