CVA Hawken question????

Does anyone have a CVA Hawken that they were able to install a vernier tang sight? I have a TC hawken vernier tang i was going to offer to a friend for his CVA Hawken but I'm not sure the tang is long enough to mount the sight. It has a 1.250 hole pattern and from photos i have looked at it looks like the CVA tang is not long enough for the sight. Any help would be great if you have any experience with this gun and sight.
