Elk horn growth

Saw 6 bulls today in unit 15 with horns growing already isn’t it early?

No, They start growing pretty much as soon as they shed the old antlers. I've seen bulls with browtines in April.

Right on I was surprised to see horns already

I sometimes half wonder if the new antler growing pushes off the old one like when you lose your baby teeth LOL. It always strikes me how soon the new ones are growing, but if you think about it they need to be fully grown by early to mid Aug...that's a lotta bone in just 4-5 months, so yeah they should be well sprouted already.
