I'd be surprised to see/hear of that heavy of a migration during the rifle Paunsaugunt hunt in early October. During the muzzleloader hunt yes, but during the rifle hunt, not impossible but not all that likely either.
The rifle hunt in this unit is the toughest of the three for seeing numbers of great bucks and tagging one. The deer tend to still be in the higher elevations, although there are deer scattered throughout the unit from north to south. Arriving a few days early and starting high and moving south looking for deer numbers is a sound strategy IMO. Good luck on your hunt and post a photo of the buck you bag!
