I too, like BCBOY use a term and method i call sneak and peek. It's especially effective high up on steep ridges looking down into north facing draws. Instead of walking the ridge itself, loop down the backside and then come up and peek over into a vantage, timber, rocks, draw, or whathaveyou. You can work a whole ridge this way, always looking ahead to where you want to loop up and peek over into the next spot.
This method has been very effective for me on big bedded bucks in the middle of the day. Every time you pop over, you just might get a peek at, bedded behind a small clutter of brush facing downhill and totally unaware, the monster muley buck of a lifetime!
