The Fish and Game has proposed leaving all southern Idaho seasons open to october 31st to normalize the general season. This will lead to MAJOR slaughters in the event of early snow. The reason that many general units can still support a late draw is that they close on the 24th before the majority of the migration. SO... why not open all general seasons on October 5th and close them on October 24th. Just as much opportunity without the risk of a slaughter........
I have been told by fish and game agents that this cant be done in 39 because the deer and elk seasons need to run consecutively, so why not make the 39 elk season start on October 25th and end on November 3rd, similarly to 32.
