We will do it again next year except I will be driving instead of flying. The dates are a week earlier so I wont need to past it off as some sort of valentines day trip

Elkass, I came up with roughly the same out of state numbers. Not very good odds. Being from Vegas, I could've and should've gone to the blackjack table or let the dice role beings I can be to the Southpoint in less than a few minutes. Ah what the hell, we never have been to the Expo and have family scattered all through the SLC area. Fun trip but definitely not worth the odds. Will we apply again-depends on how many I have thrown down at that time!

Been going on for years. When the new Expo contract was to be awarded a few years ago RMEF offered to do it for free, instead of SFW doing it and getting their cut.

The politicians of Utah awarded the contract to SFW anyway, and the people of Utah were ok with it.

So don't bother trying to change anything, the people of Utah want it this way.

I have been keeping track of all winners sine 2007. No real pattern, but interesting to see multiple winners and and affiliations of some to SFW, DWR, influencers and other hunting groups.

Actually the last two board members that was approved are not what has typically been put on the board, in fact probably the last 3 as Dearth isn't typical for what has historically been put in there.

I don't think you understand how the board works. They are not voted on, they are placed by the governor. And unless they leave voluntarily or are removed by the governor they stick out there term.

So yes things are changing, and a big part of the changes stems from the sfw/RMEF debacle.

If you can't see that things are changing your blind.

The people of Utah don't have the power to do that or it would have been done. What happened was SFW greased the palms of Utah politicians because it was as corrupt as it gets. You don't get a do over on a bid like that just because you didn't like the outcome.
