Hunter Education Bonus Point

I am not a resident of AZ but heard that if you take a hunter education course there that you will recieve a bonus point, even as a non resident.... Just wondering if there was any truth to that. Thanks.

Yes, that is true as long as you take an approved AZ hunter safety class. You have a few options. Take a class in person(locations are posted on WWW.azgfd.com ), on-line but you must do field day in AZ or one of the special weekend classes (See Don Martin).

By succesfully completing the class you will gain a permanent BP for all species. If you apply for 5 consecutive years for a spieces you will gain a "loyalty" point. You will keep the point as long as you keep applying. If you miss a year, you will lose your loyalty point for that species and have to start over again.

The information above is good. We are doing another one day class on April 6th, here in Kingman. Take the class and YOU will have the permanent bonus point for this year's deer and sheep draw.

In order to take my class, you need to have taken and passed a hunter ed class in another state since 1980. You have to send you card to Dave Williams (623-236-7434) at GF in Phx to get on the roster. Class is limited to 40 and it filled on a first come, first served basis.

Just my opinion, but I think the one day class is far better than the online and a field day..
