Knight Bighorn

Hey folks I recently aquired a used knight bighorn 50 cal muzzle loader and was wondering if anybody shoots one and what load works for them.

I have one that I shot for several years,I used 100gr and the knight bullets but just the other night I shot it with 100 gr American and TC bullets and they both shot good

I also have a Knight Bighorn. My best load in it is 90gr of Pyrodex "P" (Loose) and a 300gr 45cal XTP in a Harvester Crush Rib Sabot. I use Muskett caps to set it all off. I have topped my gun with a 1x Tasco "Black Powder" scope. I have had the gun for several years and like it although I am thinking of getting something new next year.

Thanks for the tips! MBM someone else told me told me the 300gr XTP. The XTP's I found are .452 is that the same as .45? Please pardon my ignorance, as I am more of an archer. Where do you find the Harvester Crush Rib Sabot? I have some loose Pyrodex "P" but it is a few years old. What is the shelf life of that stuff for good consistant ignition?
