On the road east of town there is sign on the road to the north about fishing access or sportsmans access. Any place to camp right there. Planning on stoppi g for a soap and want a place to throw up a tent

15 or so miles up that road there is a legit campground, Pebble Creek. There are several of the sportsman access pull offs. I've never seen anyone camp in them. Don't know if its not legal, or just no one does it. I would guess its not OK. There's enough campers up there all summer, if it was OK to squat on the access points, people would be doing it.

Or drive another 45 mins east and camp off tin cup pass, lots of options there.

I stayed at the koa laat time but the train makes for poor sleeping. The hot springs make it a.nice stop but I may need to get a room this year

Yes lots of camping in all the sportsmans access spots. One just past the RV campsite on said road to the north

Thanks. Headed to wyoming after an elk and I figured that made a good stopping point
