Laying on top of the brush

I'm having not so great a year so far, one elk shed and about 24 deer sheds. So, I thought I'd post this. Almost walked past it; turned around and here's one as it lay, on top of the sagebrush. Anyone else find them this way?

I glassed this one up from the truck a few years ago. I doubt I would have seen it if it were on the ground.

I found a small 4-point wedged tightly into a buckbrush 2 years ago and this year I found an older elk shed up on a sage. A pretty unusual way to find them it seems.
