I see that are leftover antelope tags available for 16,17, 22 and 23..Just looking for some insight on which might be the most worthy in terms of population of antelope and public land...I know this is a naive question at this point in time but thanks anyway....hth

"Leftover antelope" and "public land" shouldn't be used in the same sentence. There will always be some small areas that you can access but they will be hammered by every other guy with a GPS chip.

The reason there are leftover tags in all the areas you mentioned is because there is very little accessible public land to hunt. Antelope numbers are good in those areas, but "trophy" quality is low.

Stay away from 23, there are only a couple spots you can hunt IF you do not have private land access.

As has been mentioned, what little accessible public land there is will be hunted pretty hard by a lot of DIY hunters.

Antelope hunting in any of the areas you mentioned can be quite frustrating; you will see antelope but you can't hunt them because they will be on private lands.

Try unit 16.Has some good accessable public land. Also look at any available WALK IN AREAS ,if there are any in those units.
