Just so there's no confusion, I did not kill this buck but I spotted it. My friend shot it near Labarge, WY in 1978. A few years ago I spotted it in his den and talked him into getting it scored.

I don't remember the score so I'll have to ask him. I think it made the all time book.

He lived in Rawlings and was working in a coal mine at the time. He and a buddy decided to go deer hunting because they were tired of eating antelope. I guess back then you could get plenty of pronghorn tags. They parked the truck and split up and had only hunted a couple hundred yard and there he was. I don't think he's been deer hunting since.

I worked with him at the sawmill for 15 years. He told me he killed a real nice mule deer and I should stop by and see it sometime, but I never did. Finally after we both retired we started fishing together and one day he invited me in and showed it to me. I about puked.
