Yep, your hangfire failure is not on them. As stated, it is a Blackhorn 209 powder issue. If you read their website (blackhorn's) it states plainly that you will need to use regular 209 shotgun primers. It also is printed on the Blackhorn bottle "Do not use 209 MUZZLELOADER primers".
Don't mean to come down on you, but I read it so often: "went out and this blackhorn stuff just misfired for me" Come to find out they were using reduced power muzzleloader primers designed for 777 powder.
So, you could have saved yourself a lot of time, money and grief if you had read about Blackhorn 209. I say this not to come down on you, but for others reading so that they won't make the same costly mistake.
As to the firing pin issue, that is certainly on CVA
