Late season with weather hunt the north end of the unit, That being said deer can/will move thru the unit to other parts quick.
Hunt the border of the REZ, Hunt around the Lake. Mountain Biking/walking down the closed roads and then hunting are a good way to get away from road pressure. Any of the canyons can and will have some good bucks in them glassing them until you find one that you can hunt keeps the foot leather down.
Roads can be tough from being slop to being frozen ruts, take spare tires and fuel. I like to have a set snow tires already chained up and just change them as needed if needed.
Talk to the oil field workers they might throw ya a bone and tell you where they have seen good bucks or they might send you to a hell hole it's a roll of the dice.
IS this hunt doable with a guide Yes , BUT a guide will know spots that have produce for him over the years and those honey holes are worth the money. another flip of the coin.
Good Luck hope to see some pictures after the hunt.
