Its a good rifle, not sure its worth the $$ over the regular vanguard tho. Its been my experience that the regular vanguards shoot really good..add a 200 dollar medalist stock, free float and skim bed, and you pretty much have a sub-moa for 600 less...just my .02

Beavis I think it's their new ( possible future replacement) Vanguard that is the S2 model. They will be offering it in stainless as well as carbon steel ( matte). The stainless is an upgrade and they will sell the carbon models for less tha $500.00 and the stainless adds to the price at around $625.00=/-. Three shot guarantee under an inch at that price and it's going to be a good value. So it's a good value for the $$ and what's not to like at that price!
What you suggested will work very well with that gun and just about any other one!
