I grew up near St. George and hunted some in simialr terrain near these areas on the Utah Side. I have looked at the info NDOW has on these units and they say that the deer densities are so low that they can't model the population to come up with a estimate of how many deer there are. They also say that the hunter success is typcially very low. I still think that this might be a fun area to hunt, and wanted to find out a little more. There are two mountain ranges, the Virgins and the Mormons north and south of Mesquite. I would imagine that there are a few deer in the higher elevations on these ranges, probably near the water sources. I wondered if anybody had any info on deer and habitat in these areas? You can PM me if you would rather. Thanks.
