Point question

I was looking at the co website for a couple hours and with elk and deer I understand how the points work for units but reading the sheep stats I got a little
lost. It said all the units only took 3 points to draw and when I looked at another page it had listed another column of weighted points? Can anyone help me understand this?

The first three years you obtain regular points. You are not acutally in the drawing until you have 3 regular points. Each year you apply after the 3rd year is an addtional weighted point. In other words, if you have applied for 5 years, you have 3 regular and 2 weighted points.
