Ok so I have a friend, a 64 year old Viet-Nam vet, career military guy who, because of his military career, hasn't really been able to hunt too much and has basically been buying bonus points, saving up to hunt the area he grew up hunting as a kid. Well, I convinced him to cash in his points for a different area that he is unfamiliar with, promised him he could stay in our camp, share our food and that I would help him find and harvest a bigger bull than he would have ever seen in that other area he knows like the back of his hand. So, of course he did, and I have been telling him about the size of the bulls we have been seeing and sending him pics and he is really excited. I am pretty sure we could get him a 370 bull or bigger.
The only problem is that now, I have a new girlfriend who is so totally hot and she is going with me and the action has been so hot I don't really want some other dude around to kill the buzz. So, I told him yesterday that I couldn't help him out anymore but I did tell him where to go in the area in general.
Where I told him to go is kind of OK, but we haven't seen a whole lot of elk there lately, where I think he was thinking I was telling him was actually out of the unit. Since he doesn't know the area really well, and it is fairly large, I am pretty sure he won't find our camp, or where we are hunting even. So I think I am good to go on that front.
He is kind of upset, complaining about having made the down payment on the trailer for us and giving us $750 for food for the 10 days and how he needs the money back. What a freaking whiner.
Anyway, he also has stopped taking my calls or answering my texts. He promised me that he would buy my kid a new 4-wheeler for an early Christmas present and we are trying to get it this week so we can use it this weekend. Anyway, how do you think I should handle this to get the 4-wheeler from him?
Any advice helps.
