Not going to wade into the debate, but will say that Randy has always been a stand-up guy.
I knew him before he had a website, a TV show, etc. and I can honestly say he hasn't changed from the guy he has always been since I've known him. What you see is what you get.
Randy's message is spot on, the biggest issue facing hunting in my life-time is the PLT crap. His message of promoting public land, DIY hunting is exactly what I want to see passed down to the next generation, and the next, and on and on. Conservation of my public lands and my public wildlife is a top priority.
I can also tell you that Randy is pretty darn modest about what he's accomplished over the years in regard to hunting, public lands, conservation, and wildlife...very humble. Most people would be lucky to do 1/3 of what he has.
There have been many times that I've called Randy for advice on issues, how to proceed, how to work to solve the problems, who to talk to etc. His advice is always solid, always to the point, and of significant value. The guys been there and done that for a long time. He also is very open to allowing anyone with a legitimate concern to use his platform, free of charge, to bring the issues to the hunting public. That has been an invaluable asset on many important issues that myself and many, many other have had.
I can also say with 100% certainty, that Randy inspired me to do more for wildlife, more for conservation, more for public lands, than anyone else ever has. For that, I'll always be grateful.
Guys like Randy deserve one hell of a lot more credit than they'll ever get.
