Remington 597 - 17 HMR

Does anyone know why Remington is recalling the 597-17 HMR? They are only offering 200 bucks for them. I called Remington yesterday but did not get a clear answer.I really like my 597 and don't want to get rid of it.

There is a safety issue with some of the 17hmr ammo being too hot for a semi auto. Check the archives on predator masters.com there was a huge thread on it long ago. Remington is being cheap on the recall and losing a lot of customers as a result of it.
