Salmon Snagging

Few pics of some fun from a couple of weeks ago. These are Kokanee Salmon that we were taking. We limited out almost every time we went. Take them home and smoke them and theres not much finer eating if you ask me. Hope you enjoy the pics half as much as I did doing the catching.

Where are you snaggin at? They usually don't start running here till close to Thanksgiving.

YEP they are salmon we just don't get those 40 pounders like in Alaska. Ones we usually snag average 18-20 inchers.

I've only had a few Kokanee's that were snagged to sample eating, they were pretty fishy tasting. You must be doing something right. I think I recognize that gate in the background. Looks like somewhere on the Gunnison/Blue Mesa.

Bean, Yep you got the gate right. Ive been smoking almost all of the ones we have been getting. No idea if Im doing it right or not but they sure turn out tasty.
