Tag recommendations

I can see the draw applications begin March 23rd and the RAC meetings begin April 5th with the tag numbers being the main discussion.
Do they publicly release the tag recommendations for this year BEFORE the RAC meetings begin? Or do those numbers get introduced to the public at the RACs?

WTF, They have been saying for a year now that the tag quotas will be available prior to the draws deadline this year.

Unless I am mistaken the finalized recommendations that are presented to the Wildlife board are nearly always approved with little adjustment.

The finalized recommendations should be available to see the last week that applications are open so unless something deviates greatly from the past, folks will be able to see the numbers if they wait until the last week to put in.

This is my understanding

No they have been saying for a year that the "proposed" tag quotas would be available before the draw deadline. But they always said the final approval will come after the deadline.

Just like JakeH said and middlefork showed…they’ve been saying for a year exactly what is happening. They are doing exactly what they told us they’d do on this, even if everyone didn’t understand it properly.

Tag numbers are always set at that early May wildlife board meeting. That is not new. The only new thing for the draw is proposed numbers will be known, and that was all that ever was promised.

Permit numbers are usually in line with proposals each year. Most changes are minimal and even after changes are still pretty close to the proposals. But not always. Every once in a while they do something completely different. It’s not often, but it has happened. So that is all 13 people who will read this fair warning ahead of time!
