Unit 101......any good?

Hello, first time poster here. I have a landowner deer tag for 101. I'm hunting bow in two weeks, and will continue to hunt through all seasons if necessary. Was planning on bivy tenting near hole in the peak mt. What should expect to see or am I in the wrong area for that unit. Thanks for the look...

Aaron, somebody will correct me if I'm wrong, but you do nort have to stay in 101. You can hunt all of area 10. With that being said, unit 101 is great. Expect to see quite a few bucks up into the 160 range and look hard for 170's and very very hard for 180. Bigger ones do exist but take a miracle to find them. I find that most archery hunters will be few to nonexistent later in the season. You might see ME up there though, lol. Goodluck, fatrooster.

My tag is for 101 any season, because the landowner is in this zone I think I may only hunt here. That's great news about the buck size. It confirms what I had figured. Am I correct in assuming that during the muzzle season I won't see many other hunters above 9000 ft in that mt range. Thanks for the comeback fatrooster.

During muzzy season you still have a great chance of not seeing many hunters and could very well not see ANY hunters depending on if you get off of the main trail. The Rubies are getting more popular but it is still easy to get away from people. fatrooster.
