Hey Gents, I havent been to Sheldon since 92. I drew a Bow tag this year for deer. I know things arent what they were in 92. Curious what folks have seen in the way of bucks. Not where, just Numbers and Quality. I know the genetics are there. Thanks a million. Tony

I havent been there in a few years myself, probably like 8. But when i was there i wasnt seeing alot of BIG deer, i did see enough numbers to keep me interested, and some decent bucks at that.
Camped next to a guide and he wasnt seeing alot, but the same thing...enough to keep it interesting. He was hunting mostly the rim rocks. Both of us saw alot of big 2 point deer, not young deer but older deer that were only packing 2.
I would hope that the quality has improved the last couple of years but i dont know that. It was still a good hunt when i was there.

Thanks guys, I know it will be tough, but I like the idea of very few hunters. Im not trophy hunting by any means. Just lookin forward to spending time behind the spotting scope and finding the needle in the giant haystack! Always loved Sheldon. Tony

What part of the season are you going up there? The reason that I ask is that I have a 33E antelope tag up there and will be DIY solo for the whole season (8/22-8/29) if necessary.

Would you come back if unsuccessful??????? The reason I ask is that I could keep my eyes open for deer while there.

When the Sheldon map says "jeep trail", would I need an ATV rather than my truck?
