Anybody seen any nice bucks while out hunting this year? My dad has a rifle tag and I got an archery tag waiting until Jan to go on my hunt.

We have a deer rifle tag as well. Headed that way on Wed before the season. Cant wait to get there.

Should be a good hunt ruidoso seemed to get a good bit of rain this year

I was up that way the 2nd week of September and it looked very dry in 36. The only green that I saw was in 34 and very close to Cloudcroft. The bucks that I spotted while glassing had not rubbed out yet. I spent my time looking for elk but I never did see a buck that would make you look twice. I glassed 3 different bulls in 36 that had long heavy beams but short points. I believe the rain was too late in coming this year. I've got a co-worker that killed a 388 on the Mescalero Reservation 2 weeks ago yesterday so there are still gonna be some good heads taken. Good Luck on your hunt. Later, Baker

LAST EDITED ON Sep-28-11 AT 10:39AM (MST)[p]thats weird it rained almost everyday in ruidoso. the state workers were working 6-7 days a week fixing all the flooding damage. it did come a little late but they got good rain. it seemed to rain in patches tho
