My brother is a first time elk hunter hunting out of Buena Vista for a cow in the third rifle season (first week of November). I'll be coming in from out of state to help him. Does anybody have any good tips on where we can look to find his first cow? Thanks in advance for your post.

I'm going to be hunting unit 49, first rifle season
so I don't know how much help my information will be.
I've hunted 49 before and it holds alot of elk so I'd
say with your brother in Buena Vista he should have
time to scout out a few cows prior to the season.
