Utah Bear Hits?

Don't know, but if you get hit let us know so we can start looking............

It seems like last year cards weren't hit until a day or two before results were posted!

"You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough" -Joe E. Lewis

Last year they hit my card one day before emails started. We got the first email on Thursday the 13th. The others on Friday the 14th of March. The cc hit for my wife came late Wednesday the 12th. So that would mean that emails will start next Wednesday the 11th and carry over to Thursday the 12th. CC hits should start on Tuesday the 1oth. So just four more days.

Now that I took the time to write all that. A buddy of mine is claiming that he talked to American Express a few minutes ago and that he has a pending charge for $83.00. He says that it has the date of March 5th, but won't post until later today. He says it does not show up online, just when talking to a live person. I have a hard time believing him, but he claims to be telling the truth. I am still not 100% convinced. I just think next Tuesday will be the day. So you might want to check your credit cards. I did and American Express told me that nothing is pending. But I only have two points.

Hey just got hit on my cc for $308. I ain't messing around with you guys either.

Transaction Date: March 05, 2009
Post Date: March 07, 2009
Transaction Description: UTAH BEAR PERMIT 801-538-4812 UT
Charge: $308.00

Here's the transaction and post date. You guys better start checking!

I have 6 points for the boulder unit. Looking at the odds from last year I should draw. No hit on my Cabelas card here.

We got two San Juan Fall bear tags so far and hoping for a third!

So should be a busy fall, but a good kind of busy!! :)

HoundDawgJR, I got nothing with 7 pts, just wondering how many it took you to draw the tag?

Grizzly

I got hit this morning 0 points and I have to think it was my first choice which was Boulder spring.....anyone that reads this and would be willing to share any info at all it would be greatly appreciated....

Grizzly,

I didn't draw the tag, some friends drew, we are just taking them on the hunt. I haven't checked my card so have no idea about myself. I doubt I'd shoot one anyway.

But if you have 7 points you are probably still a few years out from drawing that unit. I know some people that didn't draw it last year with 9 points, so you better plan on a few more years.

Could get lucky, you never know. Keep trying!!

We just picked up a third San Juan tag, my buddies dad drew as well.

Some **** is gonna die on that mountain this year!! ;-)

I used to be more of a catch and release guy, but after one of those miserable **** killed my best dog and dang near killed the other last fall, I figure they are all guilty of something.

Kill 'em all. I hope three more buddies draw, I love watching those ***** die and fall from the tree!

I still believe in catch and release... catch and then release their spirit from their body to return back to their maker. Bang bang!! :)

Keep those tags coming!! ;-)

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-09 AT 05:06PM (MST)[p]roflmao at hounddawg, but I kinda understand how you might feel that way after losing a dog or two to bears.

I kinda felt that way about bears after that one sunk two of his canines into my left upper arm a few years ago. That hunter had put two bullets from a 7mm into that bear and it was down on the ground and nearly dark. As I approached that bear I jacked a round into the chamber of my pistol then put it back into the holster, then looked 0ff a ledge where most of my dogs were barking up at us. When I turned back to face that bear he was up a running and was leaving the ground headed for my throat with his jaws open.......

I saw him just short of too late and caught him with a high block that caught him under the lower jaw and made a quick sidestep which prevented him from knocking me on my butt. However, that bear was able to roll his head sideways and sink his upper and lower canines which resulted in fourteen staples in that arm. I was lucky I guess, with a two hour walk out after dark a guy could have bled to death.......

In the future when a hunter caps a bear my pistol is gonna be in my hand.........

But I understand how you feel about bears only it was on me rather than on a dog......

Wait a minute guys, i'm going to pop some popcorn :-D

Still no CC hit for me :-(

Still nothing here for the boulder with 6 points. Not looking good. Although I know now there are already 2 guys that drew with no points I have to say congrats but question once again is there something wrong with Utah's draw system?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-09-09 AT 09:03PM (MST)[p]G3,

I sat and waited for a LE bull elk permit for twenty-seven or eight years while I knew several guys locally that had drawn two tags while I waited. Likewise, I have two friends that have drawn both Bighorn and Desert sheep tags over the years, meanwhile ol' Ike is still waiting for his first once-in-a-lifetime tag.......

Maybe the once-in-a-lifetime tag only applies to some of us unlucky people? damn, I sure hope they never put bear and lion pursuit on a limited entry system or I'll have to get rid of my hounds.........

ike

Hey Dawg, have your wife check her credit card for me and see if I drew. The bank confiscated my own card years ago so I lifted your wife's credit card number last time you went bear hunting. You may just have that extra tag you're hoping for! ;-)

LAST EDITED ON Mar-10-09 AT 10:29AM (MST)[p]Well, that explains a lot about my wife's credit card statements.

Like why there were two items last month purchased from a company called "Penis Pumps, Inc"

Have fun with your new toys there fellas. And thanks for buying the Extra Mini versions, at least we got the discount that comes with the Smallest models. ;-)

You would think that I would learn. I knew better, but I still did it. ROFLMAO

I just got my Bear email 2 minutes ago "Unsuccessful"...

So the emails are going out apparently.

I just got mine as well hounddawg, the usual unsuccessful..

When I read the credit card deal I bout spit my hot cup of coffee all over the keyboard........

It's official-----UN!

I was hoping to meet Dennis and the Dogs! Maybe next time.

Ike,
How is the fall hunt?A guy I know son drew the fall archery tag Wasatch currant creek go figure 0 points.

Well Dawg, if you've seen your wife's latest credit card statement with the minature penis pumps, then I guess your birthday surprise has been ruined for you. Sorry dude, but your wife put a lot of thought into dressing up the little "ikester" on your special day. Do her a favor and act surprised anyway. ;-)

Well,

If that's my birthday present, I'll take it. It will beat what she got me last year. Last year on my birthday she walked into the room and said, "Get the **** out of bed and get your lazy *** to work. My boyfriend is coming over and we don't need you wandering around the house."

So I got ready and called you, if you'll recall. Told you, "I'm running late, gimme 20 minutes before you show up." I just hate it when you show up and I'm here and you have to act like you're there to see me and come up with some phony excuse.

So I finally got out the door and gone, and instead of going to work I headed straight for BobcatBess' house. Happy Birthday to me!! ;-)

##### the last time a bear tried to eat me my dogs took his arse off a cliff in a rolling ball of fury. No chit it was a heck-of-a site I tell ya.
Dawg - let me know the exact dates you will be in San Juan. I need to know how long of vacation to Elk Ridge to plan :)

Kevin - you want the first of the hunt or last? I'm not fussy ;)

Catman,

Not sure you'll get Kev down to my place again. He tried it during my elk hunt, got the wrong house and rang the door bell next door. My gay neighbor Bruce opened the door and saw a burly Brick Mason on his porch, holding a dozen roses and a pocket full of Viagra. Three days later Kevin staggered out of Bruce's place and headed home.

I told Bruce that was an early Christmas present.

Fall is about always a good time for me, and he seems to have a pretty good tag as well. Shoot me an email Warbirdum.......

ike

Rolling ball of fury?? Not you too!!

Geeez, sounds like somebody has spent a little to much time reading "Where the Red Fern Grows" and lifted the now famous line. That's plagarism dude.......where are all the ethics police when you need them!

BTW Dawg, I can't wait to get into bear camp and show off my new rainbow tattoo! :)
