Thanks for the comments, guys. No real rocket science - we're both in good shape, we pack light, have good binocs, good boots, good packs, minimal but good clothing, and we're ready to pack whatever down from (or up out of) wherever. No "daypacks" here, we both hunt with packframes on (modified to quiet them down), we both carry two pillowcases for meat and saw for skullcap, and both deer were fully boned out and taken to the trail or camp in one trip, sometimes long after dark. We didn't see our camp in daylight until the third day. Our camp was an 8' x 10' tarp, pads, and sleeping bags. We brought about 15 lbs too much food - still have to work on that. We sure ate well, though.
It took an entire day to pack two deer and camp down to the trailhead, from 10:00 am until dark, two trips.
We boned out my buddy's deer (the 4x4) about 15 feet from where I boned mine in '04. That was kind of neat.
