Had these guys show up out north of Phx while shooting some test loads the other day. We see them out there all the time but never had them so stupid before. I actually had to stop shooting for about 15 minutes while they fed their way across behind my target. This was my first BLM protest. Yes, I was prepared to defend myself, but I was able to restrain myself. It just ain't worth the felony conviction to shoot a stupid burro.
Wasn't always that way. Back in the late 60's we used to shoot em fairly often. There wasn't near as many back then. But it became a felony, so we quit. Yes, as I recall, Burro tenderloin is actually pretty good on the bbq. Dogs liked it too.
ODW, did you ever have the pleasure to meet Dale Dundas? He was the Hunter Education Coordinator with the AZGF.
He had some pretty entertaining stories about "the good ole days". That was back in 1969-1971.
If anyone cares to see all the "wild" burros you want to see, just go out to Lake Pleasant North of Phx. It is really sad to see how much damage they have done out there.
