We had a great fall this year. I was really excited to have my son hunt with me. He finally turned 12 and he was really excited to finally have a turn at this fun stuff we call hunting! My son harvested his first big game animal in August. He shot a nice 13? antelope with his bow.
He followed that up with his first deer, a nice 18? 4x4. My dad spotted the buck from a distant ridge and helped us work into shooting range. It was a really proud moment for me to watch my son take his first deer!
This is a picture of my Dad?s 6x4. He?s 30.5 inches wide! His first 30" buck! I actually missed this buck earlier in the hunt. After missing him, we came back to the same area a few days later and killed this wide, old buck.
We also found this great shed during the hunt too. A little bonus after spending hours behind binoculars and spotting scopes.
Looking back, I'm glad I missed the wide buck! I told my Dad, even though his is wider I think I got a better buck than he did! I love you Dad This is a picture of my Dad holding my buck. He?s a 25.5? 5x3. He?s nice and heavy. He could be the best buck I've ever taken. I love those big deep back forks! It was awesome to share time with Dad and my son. I'm thankful to live in a state with such great opportunities. Also, big thanks to mulecreek, WyoXtec, and of course my good friend bucklover for the help and support.
