Anyone have experience in this unit? Wondering how the trophy quality is in the unit.

Any comments?

I hunted moose in 2006 in unit 25. had a great time and saw moose everyday. Some days as few as only 3 and 13 was the best day. I hunted the Cottonwood creek drainages primarily but looked over most of the unit. there is quite a bit of private ranch ground but if you start early and contact the ranchers almost all will allow you access to hunt moose. It has been a few years now and I'm sure the wolf issue has had an impact on the numbers. I suggest get more current info before shelling out the $ for a non-res tag. That was my second bull moose harvest in WY. I ended up shooting an ave moose on day 8 of my hunt after all my buddies had left to go home. So there I was alone with a moose that died in the creek.....not a task I wish on anyone but I was able to get him packed to the truck over the course of a couple days. I can check my notes and maps to give you more detailed info but again it is 7 yrs out of date now.

Thanks for the message. Did you hunt private land? It sounds like most if not all of the moose are on private land. Is this correct?

What do you think is a reasonable expectation of size? 30", 35", 40"?

Thanks again!
