Youth deer 17 suggestions

My grandson drew unit 17 deer, unfortunately due to school etc. he will only be able to hunt the last weekend (coming up). He just turned 14 and has been on a deer and an elk hunt in the past, but has not got to pull the trigger yet. Any legal buck will do. I will do some scouting this week, if anybody has any suggestions on general areas to look I'd appreciate it, PMs welcome,

Thanks to all who sent PMs, they were very helpful. We did see some bucks, made a very long stalk, but couldn't close the deal. At one point we were within 30 yards and did not have a clear shot. Then when they ran off the bucks would not separate from the does;, frustrating, but that's hunting.

We did finally have some luck swing our way yesterday, he shot a young elk in Colorado on a late antlerless youth hunt. It's his first big game kill, really excited.
