AZ 12B-MUZZ & UNIT 9 BULL ELK

I drew a AZ 12B muzz tag for mule deer.I also drew a unit 9 bull elk tag.This will be my first time hunting in AZ.I could use all the help i can get.

I have a unique situation for the elk hunts starts the day after the mule deer hunt ends.I am considering all option.

My suggestion is kill a deer early. Get into unit 9 as soon as possiable and kill a Monster!!!!

Way to go. I'll trade information with you. I drew a NV 101-108 late deer tag this year along with a Unit 9 AZ tag for elk. I hunted it in 2001 and still state it was the greatest hunt I've had yet. It's a tuff hunt and weather dependant. I would be glad to help you with any information you may need. 801-420-0706.

Man that 9 tag is something. Better spend your time there.

I have hunted both.. The 9 late hunt in '99 and the 12B hunt in 2000...We pulled a 403 and a 325 bull outta 9.. If it is sunny and dry the tanks can be productive..if you have weather I would forget the tanks and still hunt or take a stand off of a good trail in the THICK stuff..As for 12B I would concentrate in the drainages off of the plateau's.. The tops of the mountain will hold most of the hunter's..hunt from right below the tops and down the sides. The steeper the better!
You are holding two great tags, but they are very tough hunts..Be very diligent and you should eventually run into something.
