I am interested in hunting for Mule Deer next year in one of several western states. I'm new to this type of hunting and am curious on how one goes about researching on where they are going to hunt. I am looking for a place to obtain accurate information on something like this. If also someone can point out a few things to keep in mind when searching for a "good" place. ie. (weather, pressure, etc.)

Thank you

The main question you need to answer is, what are you looking for? There are some hunts that will offer great numbers of deer, but no chance at a trophy. Some with just the opposite, very few animals, but the potential of offering a monster. I personally would recommend booking with an outfitter that offers tags or has a higher percentage of drawing. That is another issue, how much can you afford? The cheapest way is a "Do It Yourself Hunt", but it may take years to draw a decent tag. There are many ways to go after you decide money limits, quality and are you comfortable possibly waiting several years to draw a tag.
I hope this helps you get started, Mike
