New Mexico Unit 53 help/advice

I am looking for any advice on hunting NMx unit 53. I'll be hunting the first week of Nov. I have scouted both Latir and Wheeler Peaks, but thus far have seen 20x as many sheep as MD! (I have searched and read other posts.) Should I stick to the high country? What is the Ute mountain area like? The sage? Where would you go to get away from crowds? Any advice is much appreciated.

I hunted elk in September there last year and don't think I even saw a buck. I would expect that around that time of year, snow will be on the ground and you can probably find them in the low country and sage flats.

Actually, I have seen quite a few (younger looking) bucks - in the Red River subdivisions. That is not my idea of how I want to hunt...
