Well, that explains why they call it Huntington Beach. Who knew you could find a toad like that in the sand. Weird looking mugs on those guys.

WOW!!!

That poor guy in the black T-Shirt looks like he got shot right through the heart!

Whats the deal manny, no comments about the guts? You aren't getting soft are ya?

That is one sweet buck. Why block out the faces?

The detail and clean lines of he rifle just don't match the fuzzy lines on the rest of the photo... and something else just doesn't click in my eyes?
just my $.02 on this one...
One hell of a buck though if it is real..

ADDICT and I think alike, looks like it was taken on SANTA ROSA ISLAND off the southern California coast from LA area.

santa rosa island buk, transplanted from the kaibab back in the 50's, don't know the guys, but i just had to post it....

LAST EDITED ON Dec-10-08 AT 11:18PM (MST)[p]i heard their eliminating all the deer and elk off the island by 2011, so the tree huggers can return the island back to its natural state....

What a nice Buck. That really too bad that is going to happen(removing all deer and elk), I always thought if a disease hit the strip and other area's they would have some of the same genes to return to the area. But there is some monsters on S.Rosa Island. Wouldn't mind having to hunt it myself BUT I just can't see that kind of money coming my way anytime soon. LOL

last time i checked, there's a five year waiting list.......

No, I meaning putting the buck in the beach. It is easy to tell the pic has been altered and the buck cut out of another pic and put on that one.

I don't think so. I put it into PS and zoomed way in. The transitions from the deer to the sand are good, and also note the sand on the buck's belly and hooves.

Of course, it was obviously taken with a WA lens with the buck and sand mound in the foreground and guys farther to the rear. I'm guessing the nose is somewhat buried to hide some blood and tongue.

P.S. When I saw the subject of "Cali Buk" I thought it was from Column B of a Chinese restaurant menu. ;-)

I'm sure the photo is real. It's just weird seeing a big buck dead on the beach. It must be Santa Rosa Island they have some giant bucks and Tule Elk out there. Are they really going through with the mass extermination of deer and elk on the island? What a waste just to please some tofu fartin ferry's

Ditto!

From what I understand, these hunts cost in the $10,000-$12,000 range. A guy I used to work for had hunted out there a couple of times. He took some good bucks but nothing like that. It's a shame that they are taking all of the non-native species off of this island as well as Catalina Island. The BS thing is that they want all the deer, elk and pigs off of these islands but are allowing the buffalo to stay. I'm not sure if there are buffalo on Santa Rosa but there are on Catalina. I gather they'll let the buffalo stay to draw tourists. I don't see why they don't have a plan to use this highly sought after resource to fund other projects they want to fund on the islands. Look at the revenue that these hunts bring in. Anyone know exactly why they want the non-native species off?

LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-08 AT 05:42PM (MST)[p]The extermination of all exotics (non-native) critters goes along with the creation of the national park. Over the years the exotics have degraded the natural flora on the islands and some of the smaller wildlife species. So when they created the Channel Islands National Park (http://www.nps.gov/chis/), which includes all of the ones off the CA coast except Catalina, it was to the intent of restoring the habitat back to what it was.

Many years ago, I hunted the Merino sheep and hogs on Santa Cruz Island. The devastation to the habitat was quite obvious. Since that time, they have pretty much wiped out the sheep and hogs by shooting them from helicopters.

100% no doubt about it! PHOTOSHOP! download that pic to your computer and zoom in on it. I would say 90% of the horns are real but photoshop clone brush lines seem to be definitely visible. In addition you can see that the hunters and buck were moved. The background is fake. Unless the back ground was taken with a 6 meg camera and the hunters shot with a 2 meg filtered camera and somehow incorporated together in one shot then the photo isn't legit. Seriously, zoom that thing all the way down and compare (count) the pixelation. Hunters, deer, and background are 2 separate pixel counts, meaning different cameras. I'm not a professional on the subject but common sense tells me the math doesn't add upp. And it is possible I'm so full of crap I can't see straight either. ROFL!

I examined the pic black death posted on here of a bull and took a blown up excerpt from it and show you its comparison up next to that from the above buck. You can see the severe fuzzy lines around our buck vs the non fuzzy lines of the bull black death posted. you will also note the extreme geometric(squares) symmetry of the fuzz on our deer. Thats how the smoothing part of photoshop works. Makes things have very visible patterns.
Just my two cents. go ahead, zoom in on this pic and zoom in on ones you feel, or know, are real and compare the fuzz lines around major objects in the pic.

I would have to say the buck, if real, was definitely moved!

why do you homos care if it was photoshopped or not? Why would someone go through the effort???

In all the years of looking at pictures posted here, there have only been a couple that were actually photoshopped, and they were blatenly obvious.

right, and why would this pic be photoshopped?.....don't get it!

I will post back more evidence after I get over my writers block. My creative juices just quit flowin the last couple days. Just give me a week and I'll figure somethin else to tick you guys off with! Some of you guys on here are so freakin clueless. Honestly, you should google sarcasim. The sense of humor on some of you guys is so dead it aint even funny! I can't believe how many people take me serious after all my posts.
ROFL...can you say gullable?

LAST EDITED ON Dec-17-08 AT 02:23PM (MST)[p]Great looking deer. The surf looks like it has a yard work alert though.

Even my eyes can tell that the background of this pic has been photoshopped.
Why would someone do this? I don't know but is not the real background for the deer pic.

I took one look at that photo and could tell it was photoshopped.

Musta been that the Guide had a big ole chit eatin grin on his face, how dare he, he didn't pull the trigger.

Great photo - thanks for sharing (and I mean it).

thats the ocean in the back round and not photo shopped

ts previous owner, Vail & Vickers of Santa Barbara, had owned the island since 1902 and sold it to the U.S. federal government for $30 million in 1986. The last domestic cattle were shipped off the island in 1998. The National Park Service will permit the former landowners to retain non-native Kaibab Mule Deer and Elk (Cervus canadensis)Roosevelt Elk on the island until 2011.

Santa Rosa Island puts out 200" bucks every year.
Sand dunes, Ocean and BIG BUCKS.
You naysayers need to do your homework.

Don't let things surprise u.... I did the above w/out photoshop.. and u can tell.. but it only took me 10 minutes.. If I would have done this on photoshop.. 10 minutes would have gone a lot farther and easier... not to mention cleaner and better. I'm not saying the picture is a photoshop... but IMHO... It is either a nice camera with editing options mixed with photoshop... Or someone knows what they are doing when cropping pictures. I think it is a photoshop and they did a good job.. either way u look at it... Nice buck..

Its clearly a photo shop job . . .

But, for all of you that think anything other than faces and logos was "photoshopped" I think you are up in the night. I don't think anything on the deer or in the background was photoshopped.

It took you ten minutes to make a reversed negative antler obviously float in mid air?

My experience with photoshop is its usually really easy to tell when something is shopped.

i.e. - its really easy to tell that someone cropped the faces and logos out of the picture of that nice Santa Rosa buck.

I'm not saying it's not a real buck... If you read the post it's refering to the photo being edited... or photoshoped.. IMO I think it's a real buck and has different background... Didn't say that it wasn't the background of the area he was taken in or what not... just photo manipulation. Will have to post a couple pic's that I know have been photoshop... and laugh as everyone says they are real.. They may be real animals... and real background.. but the two never were together.

the only thing wrong with the pic is their sitting a ways behind the deer to make it look bigger?.....

I love the pic with the two bucks and the swells in the back. Looks like a perfect day. Any pics with deer and breakers? I've had a dream for some time to mix a day of deer hunting with surfing. Looks like there is such a place.

You guys are stupid, NOT PS. and by the way, thats me on the left............

Now we can hear the story!! Nice buck. How did you get the background to make it look like you were on an island in the Pacific Ocean? HaHa Just kidding. How many other toads did you see while you were out there?
