I was wondering if anybody could let me know how I could get ahold of someone that is in charge of antler fest. I got on there web sight but there is no contact info. Thanks so much
20? Yeah maybe freaking 20 below! I know one night it was -9 and around -17 with the wind chill. We only sat out that day directly in the snow for about 4 hours so it wasn't too bad. Normally you can keep warm by walking or hiking but only being able to move my eyes didn't do a whole lot. I'm really surprised how well shivering actually works to help keep you from freezing to death. I had those little hand, foot and body warmers stuck everywhere a person could imagine and I was still cold! I don't know how you guys put up with that humid cold and the wind just cuts right through. I can't believe Chris never got cold. I think that might have been from all the chips and cheese dip he ate? I'm still having a hard time typing with my trigger finger. Pretty much ruined the tip of the sucker for good I believe!
I do have to admit that those whitetails sure are slippery buggers! Even the dang fawns are on edge and ready to bust into the trees at the slightest sound, smell or movement. Like any animal they have the fight or flight instinct and if you're lucky they won't attack! We had a little run in with one doe that could have really been ugly!
Seriously, it's pretty intense hunting the suckers! Fun stuff!!! Thanks for letting me come hunt with you Crispy!
