Not sure he even qualifies as a spike.

Interesting! I saw a blacktail that had a similar antler configuration, except not as massive. It was during the season but i couldnt make out any 1 inch forks to make it legal.

When was the pic taken?I have seen a few times in April when they are just beginning to grow their antlers that a buck will have incredible mass like that.I wonder if the mass kind of spreads out as the antlers grow some heighth to them.

I have seen a whitetail buck that looks like that
Goofy

I'll tell you who it was . . . it was that D@MN Sasquatch!

Be interesting to see in a couple more months.

We had one in the Sierra, that got about 16" high on both sides and looked like a melted candle. It never grew a tine of any length.

Could be a cactus buck (one without testosterone production due to damaged testicles). But the timing of growth seems normal for the year? Hope you get some later pictures of him.

I have seen a cactus whitetail buck pet that was castrated that had what looked like a head of cauliflower on each horn pedicle.

He is a cactus buck to some degree. He does shed his antlers each year, but does not loose his velvet till late winter. This is him last year. His face resembles a doe, more than a buck.
