Unsuccessful deer applicant Choices

I've never been unsuccessful on all of my applications in any years of hunting. I'm wondering what guys do if they don't draw anything for that season. Do they purchase the leftover tags? Do they look into buying a landowner voucher? Just curious what YOU'VE done in the past.

Steve

Well Wisz!

If I had Drawn all the Damn Tags in one year like you did last year I might be asking the same Question!:D

But see Wisz!

On the Years You Draw & I Don't I've got Options/Plans!:D

Since I almost always strike out, I have developed a whole slew of OTC options that I really like;Idaho muleys, whitetail, California blacktail, Utah any bull.....etc. my heart is never broken.-----SS

I've grown quite used to not drawing tags. And I don't like it! Luckily, I live in Wy where there is plenty of OTC hunting. Unfortunately, general units can be somewhat crowded at times.

I guess crowded hunting is better than no hunting..

nontypical- Yes, you are lucky to be living in WY. If we don't draw our buck antelope tags, we can always pick up a couple doe fawn antelope tags to help fill the freezer....and have a good, fun hunt to boot. Good luck in this years draw...it might be your year.

If I don't draw any tags I usually can pick up a MT tag and/or a ID tag.

"Go hunt for meat at Walmart."

Wisz, if it ever happens that you don't draw, come on up and hunt with the 35,000 of us who hunt OTC blacktails. I hear it's about 6% hunter success on public land these days.

Eel look on the bright side there's a 94% chance you won't have to deal with any ticks.LOL

It's been about 5 years or so since I've put in for an A zone tag. My skin can't handle the hunting season here in Cali any more. It's always over 90 degrees...sun beating down on me. Gotta watch out for the rattlesnakes...gotta be careful that you don't accidentally kick one rock into another as to not create a spark that will cause the whole forest to go up in flames. Plus, I think the illegals shot all the deer that lived here anyway. They can kill a lot of deer if you've got 10 of em throwing .22 lead at em. I'm waiting for California to open a unicorn hunting season. I've got a better chance at filling that tag than a deer tag.
