Don't know who shoot it but congrats

I seen that buck a few times in the hay fields inside the town. while I was out there and got pics/video. I was really hoping no one was going to hunt him he could have been something cool to look at a couple years down the road.

I spend alot of time on that unit and it has really gone down hill the last 4 or 5 years. They are killing alot of bucks every year and there is no age on those deer. The last 2 rut seasons spent 3 or 4 diff, days out there and didnt see one buck i would have put a tag on. I have 12 points for deer and started applying else where. Hope the central rac will address this problem some time in the near future.

There's way to many big old two and three points out there. It really needs a management hunt in place to help it out. It's turned into a joke the last couple of years in my opinion. I've seen better bucks in general units this year then I've seen out there. They need to cut down the tags for big bucks and take out some of the monster two points!

theres been a few not including the hay field bucks. there are some giants on the unit but i do think there needs to be a management hunt

Like the idea of a management hunt. Be great if they did one for youth out there and then yes cut the tags down to bring the quality back up. Problem is the DWR needs the income since state keeps cutting their budget which means the number of tags either have to go up and/or the cost for tags. In the end the hunters and deer suffer.

I was thinking all LE hunts should have a management hunt. The reason being is its a great way to get good genetics.

The more I think about "Management Hunts", the more I like the idea for MOST LE units in Utah. (I don't think it'd be good for Dolores Triangle or Crawfords for example). For units that have a lot of tags, I'd say you take 1/3 of all tags for all seasons and make them Management Tags for youth...

I would stress for youth as youth have lower success rates, but it would almost ensure they get hooked on hunting quality areas and quality deer at a young age. (Then we stickem with reality when they age out :-D )

I think the Book Cliffs and Vernon would benefit from management hunts, and if those hunts were for youth they would be hunting with veteran hunters and their families and I believe it would increase the good genentics and create greater opportunity for the "trophy hunters"...
