Well Washingtonians, the modern elk opener is right around the corner. For the east side that is. Hopefully next Saturday will make all that scouting worth while. Weather has been a little better as of late so that should improve the odds for us. I'll be hunting the Nile area or somewhere in that vicinity. Where will you guys be? Hope it works out for everyone, good luck!

how has your scouting been. Are you hunting spikes or do you have a any bull permit. I am not hunting, I have a special permit for later in the year. I will be up in the Colockum helping a friend that has a cow permit.

good luck

I have been in the area a few times since the summer, and have seen many elk. At least 10 spikes. I will be hunting for a spike with my brother and a friend. A little snow would be perfect. This week wont go fast enough!

I will be in the nile also...Although I must confess havent been down there yet this year. Have a friend in Yakima who had an anybull tag with the bow and got a small 5X4. He did some looking for me. Will only hunt 3 days then back home...good luck.

I just got back from setting up elk camp up in the Colockum. The weather is still warm. Mid to high 60's. the camps are going up all over the place. There were 20 any bull permits for the unit and I saw three bulls that were shot. a 6X6, 5X5, and a 2X2.
