Hunting Wyoming questions

I'm a young college student from Oregon that would, someday in the near future, like to hunt elk in Wyoming with my dad. I have never been there before and tried researching the Wyoming fish and wildlife department website but found it to be very confusing. What opportunities are there for OTC Archery in this state? I know that non-residents can't hunt wilderness by themselves. I would like to find an area that had quantity over quality also. I'd rather be in the elk all the time and have opportunities at smaller bulls than to see maybe a big bull or two the whole hunt. Although big bulls would be nice too but I suppose you can't always have your cake and eat it to. I watched the Eastmans hunting tv show with Cameron Hanes on an archery hunt in some beautiful country in Wyoming and thats the kind of place I would like to hunt.

So can anyone give me any advice? What units are OTC or may take just a couple years to draw? What units have terrain that is similar to the one in Camerons' hunt? What a person can expect to find, elk number wise. Hunting pressure? etc. etc.

I greatly appreciate any wise words anyone can give, I can help anyone out on Oregon info too if anyone's interested.

Thanks again

Thre are no OTC bull elk licenses in WY, have to go through the NR draw, which just happened today. Starting next year 06', there will be a preference point system for NR.

I'd suggest applying in 2006 for general license elk as a party with your dad. About 1 in 3 odds for $493.00, 4 out of 5 odds for $893.00. Each.

If you draw, I'd recommend the Sierra Madres in SC Wyoming. There are lots of other good options, though.
