Sparring Bulls

If two bulls are sparring at this time of year, is that an sign that they are just about to shed(possibly trying to knock their antlers off) or are they just bored and playing around?

Bored and playing around would be my guess.

Playing would be my guess, but there is still a chance of them falling off while playing! I know that when they get close there will be some head shaking prior to them dropping. Good Luck.

I found 3 small whitetail sheds right next to each other one time. Kinda figured that they sparred until one buck was antlerless. Just a theory though.
