that is a big buck. Money well spent. that Gov tag is a good deal for about $8,000 or $9,000 when you look at what the Gov tags go for in other states. Any idea on what the score of that buck is.

That is a hell of a buck. theres some nice bucks in the entiat unit. Suprised we havent heard about it. Is there a story on it anywhere.

I dont know much about it,but a work with a guy, who has a friend that found a nice set of sheds form the area and they resemble this buck. We think it could be the sheds of of this deer.

Duck....do you know anything about the gov. tags here(WA)? How do you bid on them and how do they determine which unit, etc....
Thanks

There was some discussion on that buck and a picture I believe on post here earlier in the winter. I wonder what the laundry basket is for?

The gov tag was sold last month at a big convention. I think is was in Bellevue. The tag sold for $8500 last year. If you look on the WDFW web page under hunting there is a section that talks about all the auction and raffle tags.

2003 auction tags went for:
Statewide deer $8,500
Eastside elk $12,500
westside elk $11,000
Bighorn sheep $ 50,000
Moose $ 12,000
Mountain goat $6,750

I heard the buck gross scored in the low 190's. The auction deer tag this year was sold at the WAFNAWS/SCI/RMEF convention in Bellevue and went for $12,000. You can bid in person or phone bidders are welcome. The season runs from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31 and is open in any unit managed by WDFW that has a hunt at any time during those four months. The hunter may use any weapon at any time (he/she could use a rifle during the archery season for example). These are the same rules for the tag that is raffled by WDFW. Tickets are available for around $5 on the WDFW website.

For some information about the banquet where the deer tag and west side elk tags were sold go to www.wafnaws.com

One hell of a buck killed by Jim Cook. I heard that he got the tag again for this season.
