A Great Story

Along with a few dozen other guys, my friends Ryan, Tracy and I watched this buck, and filmed him 25-30 times through out the winter.

One day we spent 11 hours filming him while he was packing just his right antler, hoping it would drop on camera.

I knew his left shed was near his morning bed, and felt confident we could turn at least one of them up. He shed his right side during the night, and with some study on google earth, we narrowed down where we thought it would be. Another hiker(Art) beat us to the left shed, but Tracy got on the bucks line of feeding and tracked the right side down .4 miles from where we last saw him, and more than a mile from his left side.

A few weeks later I paid a visit to Art, and after an hour of small talk and a few minutes of hageling, the set was matched up.

After a couple of bad health years, I was glad to get back in the outdoors, had one of my most memorable winters spent having fun with my buddies. Thanks guys.

Great deer and great set! It is always nice when we can be kind enough to part with an anter to bring a pair together. I was able to be a part of that kind of situation this year and it was a lot of fun. What we traded was nowhere near as big though.

p.s. Yelum I sent you a pm

Larry, you are awesome. You guys worked so hard, and deserve that great set. It was a pleasure to see that set in person last week. I am glad you are doing so much better this year, it's nice to see that fire back in your eyes. Congrats again on a sweet set!!!
